Using our gallery space, and accessible and affordable technology, this is a practical, hands-on workshop designed to teach artists how to professionally photograph their work for online portfolios, submissions, and exhibitions.

Meet your tutor
Simon Bates is a documentary photographer/Visual Artist based in Kilmore, Wexford. Simon holds an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London, and a BA. Architecture from the University of Liverpool. His personal work has been exhibited in PhotoIreland Festival in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2019, and 2022. He has taken part in numerous group exhibitions, including the RHA Annual Show, and his work has been published in national and international publications. In 2019 his Labourer’s Cottage project was exhibited at the IAA (Irish Architectural Archive) as part of PhotoIreland. In 2021 he was awarded an Artlinks Bursary, and was the recipient of the inaugural Gypsy Ray Social Documentary Residency at The Butler Gallery, Kilkenny.
